More Yuki!

Yuki 7! I'm participating in the show in July at Nucleus! I hope to see some of you there!

So! A little update from me. I got a tiny promotion at work! I'm now a Vis Dev Apprentice as opposed to a Vis Dev Trainee, it's pretty exciting and I've got new mentors and I'm starting to work on stuff that will really be in the movie!

Summer?

It's June already! I cant believe its already summer...I suppose the next question should be "When can I go to the beach?"

Yuki and Darkstalkers

I recently had a great opportunity to do some art for the awesomely talented Kevin Dart's Yuki 7 book!

Here's the peice I did, hopefully I will have a few more for the Nucleus show


I heard about Udon doing a Tribute book for Darkstalkers, and I felt like doing a piece, I never got around to finishing it, so I never sent it in. :P

Cats!

Anyone who knows me knows I love my cats, I thought it could be fun to do a childrens book, a sort of buddy comedy starring the two of them, Gizmo who is spunky and happy and Boots who is fat and angry. :)

Browsing my old posts, I noticed that I dont post much here other than characters, I think most people who read my blog probably think that I do characters at work too, but actually I spend most of my time doing environments. I should probably start doing more location stuff in my free time as well so I can show them on my blog!

Totally Random, but I saw this guy at my local whole foods and thought it was pretty funny, we're all predisposed to see faces in things and this guy was totally a character when I looked at him!

More Nerd Stuff!

More Nerd Stuff! These have been pretty fun recently, I might try to do a couple more, maybe Batgirl and Poison Ivy.

I also got a pretty cool opportunity that most artists don't get. My dad flies and owns a few planes, recently he acquired one from WWII Called Nanchang Nancy, Apparently the Chinese made some planes for America during that time, and they were very good fighter planes. It's a little 2 seater war plane with a funny little pinup girl painted on the side of it. He asked if I wanted to paint a new one for him (he's always been very supportive of my art) So I'm gonna do it! I've got to do some research on what type of paint to buy, but it should be really exciting! I'll post up some sketches later this week perhaps. The one on the plane now is a chinese girl in a pseudo-mao communist outfit, she seems a little bored, so I'll try to remedy that :)

Wonder Woman!

I've always been a real big nerd at heart, and the other day I thought about how fun it would be to illustrate some classic DC girls. I always sort of liked how Iconic they were compared to Marvel ;) And here is the most iconic of them all, Wonder Woman!

Mermaid

When I was a kid, I loovveedd Mermaids, I blame mostly the movie "The Little Mermaid" but they were one of the few things I could draw. When I was in day care other little kids would ask me to draw them mermaids and request hair color and tail color. I thought it would be fun to revisit those memories.

My boyfriend and I were brainstorming some fun ideas for Christmas images and this was one that I just thought was hilarious. I love Christmas and Christmas time so maybe I'll find more time to do a couple more ideas.

AH! I got word last week that I got into the Disney Apprenticeship program! Second time is the charm I guess, I'm so excited to get to start working with amazing artists at Feature!

Summer days

Whew, what a hectic past couple of weeks! We had a huge deadline and had to work 2 weekends in a row :( I also started my class at Art Institute! It's been a real interesting experience and the kids are really great!

This piece is just a quickie, inspired by Ashley Wood, I saw him use some screen tones on top of these cute drawings of girls. I didn't have any screen on hand so I just used some photoshop trickery lol. I hope everyone had a great time at Comic con!

Great Expectations Painting!

Look what I finally finished!

I got a new kitten over the weekend so it's been a real hectic mess. My normal cat boots doesnt seem to enjoy the little intruder, but we're hoping that this clears up soon.
