Calendars!
I made some calendars! These were fun for me because I was trying to think of ways to make prints that could be useful and fun! I always have a hard time finding places to put artwork up and a calendar I thought would be great for other people! The princess one is in my shop right now, but the others will go up soon! I have been selling these at conventions but I realized I forgot to post these on my blog!
Happy Holidays Everybody! I hope you are all enjoying this awesome time of year. I realized I haven't done any of my Christmas shopping yet ughghghhghghghghghgh.....

Some Tangled Fine Art Pieces
Over the Thanksgiving break I was able to find enough time to do some little pieces for Disney Fine art by Collectors Editions. These paintings are available through them. I had a lot of fun revisiting these characters and just imagining new and fun things they could be doing together!
Using gouache again has been a real treat too. I really forgot how much I liked the medium after playing with watercolor for so long.

Cat Circus
My now husband likes to always entertain me with little stories about our cats, one day he said that my old cat boots had run off to the circus while I was away. I imagined what a circus full of cats looked like and was very amused. I imagine there would be lots of cute kitties and lots of fur flying!
I have this also listed in my shop as a large and small print! I'll have some at CTN X too!

I'm participating in a show this Saturday at Gallery Nucleus! This piece will be up for sale! It's a 16x20 Acrylic, Paper, and Washi tape piece. More Hunger Games fanart
Secretly I'm a giggly 16 year old girl! It's interesting how my mental image of the characters seems to be very pliable. As I keep sketching I keep discovering things that I realize feel more like the characters than the way I had imagined them!
I wanted to do a piece where the characters were wearing the black fire costume that Cinna makes for them

Announcing my book! Freckles!
Hey all! Exciting news! Last week I mentioned that I will have an art book available for CTN-X! This is a temp cover, the text I think will change. It's going to be 72 pages of artwork, about half of which has not been posted before! I'll be printing 500 of them, so I'll have some for Emerald City con and for sale in my shop as well! I'm so excited for everything this fall! I'm so excited to get to meet everyone!

Katniss Everdeen
On my most recent trip to Taiwan, I bought the Hunger Games series on my Kindle, and I had such a great time reading them! I'm very excited for the films, but I wanted to do a sketch of what Katniss looked like in my head. I imagine her with large Doe like eyes, but a narrow sharp jaw and strong eyebrows. In my dream casting, I would have had Jennifer Carpeter from Dexter 10 years ago!
I also wanted to announce that I'm going to be printing an art book for CTN-X in November! I hope to see you all there where I will be sharing a table with my Fiance.
He's doing a really cool project too, Go to his blog and check it out! I'm helping him with the animals in his cars

Paper Cut Stylez!
A few weeks ago at Imagineering, they had a Mary Blair show where they displayed many of her original pieces of art! We managed to go on the last week and got to see some of them in real life. I was shocked at the quality of them as well as how much process you could see by seeing the originals. On many of the pieces you could see her grid lines, and how she cut the paper or tape. I loved how you could see that the pieces were both very planned and also very spontaneous.
I was also surprised at how much paper cut she used in her pieces many of the scanned images you see in the books don't show the little folds or curls or cut marks. I got really inspired and I wanted to do some pieces integrating paper as well. Here is my first try, using Pricessia Pia again, I also used gold tape and some Washi tape for her dress and crown! I had SO much fun doing it, I can't wait to keep exploring these materials!

Outfit of the day post!
Hung out in Silverlake today, had lunch at one of my fave spots "Forage!"
I've been having a lot of fun doing the text for these pieces too. Illustrative text is one of my favorite things nowadays! One of my biggest regrets is not playing as much in my classes and learning how to do things other than illustration...

I got this idea to start doing doodles of my outfits from a few diffrent people, I saw Nancy Z's blog, which is awesome, but I sadly don't have the time or energy to photograph myself, but everyone should check out her work!
I also saw recently this awesome chick Tiffany Ford's been doing it too! It's so fun to see into people's normal lives outside their art!

Pamplemousse Fabrics for Crafts!
So I'm a pretty crafty person and recently I heard about this awesome website called Spoonflower where you can print all of your own fabric! I thought it could be fun to print some fabric and sell it as limited editions for quilits...or pencil cases or anything else people can come up with!
I just love craft supplies!
I have a seperate shop for this apart from my shop for pints
The newest designs will be added to the shop on Friday at 3pm PST! Look for it!

A little commission I did recently~ I was very inspired by the watercolors in Miyazaki's books and wanted to get that loose, vibrant feeling I get from them in this piece. This girl made me think of a wild and tough princess like Princess Monoke.
I had some trouble with the water, but I learned I need to practice things like that :P
