More original art! I did these as commissions, the character is not mine, but belongs to the commissioner.
The peice I did for the Girls Drawing Girls gallery show, I actually did not find the time to frame or send to the gallery :( I was very dissapointed to not be able to participate in the show, but I'm now selling the piece in my Etsy,

Micro Gallery +Kevin Nelson
5x3 Mixed Media on Panel
One of my little pieces for our SUPER BIG MICRO GALLERY SHOW at Gallery Nucleus next week! It's going to be artists from Disney and Dreamworks and Pixar all doing small pieces (under 6x6) It should be a great opportunity to see some great work and maybe pick up some Christmas Gifts!
This is only one of my pieces the other one will be a secret shown only at the show! But that's only because I forgot to photograph it before I sent it off :P
Also! My Mentor and 15 year Disney Vet Kevin Nelson finally started a blog! Go on over and check out his awesome work!

CTN-X!
A couple of Christmas elves! I know it's a little early, but this was a little test for a christmas card this year.
Also, CTN-X starts today! Pecknpaw will have a booth there, and will be selling the book for those of you who have not yet gotten your copy! We will be at booth E11.

I will be there for the mixer tonight, and will be working the Pecknpaw booth on Sunday! Stop by and say Hello.
I will be taking some comissions while I am there. I will have a list of 5 small postcard sized pieces, watercolor for 50 dollars, and I will also be doing 3 larger letter sized watercolors for 100. CTN seems like it will be great this year, I hope to see you there!

The book I illustrated is in stores now! I illustrated the Little Golden book for the film I've been working on, Tangled!
I hear it is in stores as well as online! I'm so excited to have something of mine in print! I've linked the image to the Amazon link.
I also wanted to mention my mentor Claire Keane, and my friend Brittney Lee did a book for Tangled as well and their books are AMAZING!! Check them out too!

Life Drawing
It's been a really long time since I had a chance to go to life drawing. I decided to drag my tush to the class and had a really great time!
I recall during school how important it was for me to have a nice drawing at the end of class. I was always trying to emulate the teacher or the other great students in my class, but I think that because of that I didn't learn as much as I could have from life drawing. Instead of focusing on finding forms and rhythms, I was always just trying to make my drawings look like "that guy's" Today I decided to go into class just trying to learn and doing my own thing without worrying about a nice drawing that looked like anyone else's, and things worked out quite well! I both had decent drawings and I learned, and I had fun!

Watercolors
A couple of pieces I did as commissions! Watercolors have always been pretty fun, but I am definitely getting the hang of it! I've ordered a number of books recently on watercolor techniques but I really wish there were a class I could take!
I hope that everyone is having a good summer! Pecknpaw is planning on doing CTN this year and I think I will also be doing commissions and prints!

Comic con 2010
This year at Comic Con, we worked at the Pecknpaw booth selling our Disney Vis Dev Collaborative art book! It was a great con where we met tons of awesome people!
Scott Watanabe, and My BF Mike helping to set up.
On Friday I started to take my commissions. This is one I particularly Liked of Jessica Rabbit!
This one was a simple prompt of "Girl with a Dragon" I did one with a girl and a large dragon but it was so embarassing I had to redo it! This one turned out much better!
My very First Commission! Princess Leia with a Chibi 3P0 and R2. I'm a huge Star Wars Nerd, so I super loved doing these!
Padme with a Chibi old 3P0! These two were a set.
This wonder woman I actually did for myself. I always loved wonder woman's design and did her for fun, but this piece actually ended up selling as well!
Skeches for a Harley Quinn Commission. I like to test out poses before I commit to anything on the watercolor paper
This guy was great. He had a Rascal but dressed it like a dragon!
Vamperella and Red Sonja. I ended p adding a little black bat to the Vamperella piece so that she wasn't staring at nothing.
I actually had so much fun doing these commissions! It was my first time doing so (which is why if you got one from me, I might have seemed sorta scatterbrained) But I loved it!
