I've done a few of these recently, at work, I'm doing character renderings, Sargent really is the master of subtly, and I've been learning a lot doing them!
Really beautiful study. It's also really wonderful to see how you are trying to learn from master artists that are outside of the typical animation/design/illustration network. Kudos. I need to do more of that.
