Work in Progress
It's been a bit of a rough patch for me in terms of my personal art, so here's a little thing that I've been working on on and off for the past few weeks. It's definitely still a work in progress, but I thought it would be nice to share something like this with you guys!

Age Before Beauty?
I've always loved doing Pinup girls! They're so cute and they have so much personality. I took a little time over the holiday break to make these little greeting card girls. You can find them here!

The Last of my "Frozen" Art Posts
I think? If I dig up anything else I'll be sure to post it here, but for now I think this all that's left! The stragglers if you may.
One of the newest deleted scenes from "Frozen" shows the girls interacting on coronation day like sisters, In this scene I designed their "Dressing Room" which was lots of fun because it's basically a giant closet! There's still lots of Rosemaling but thinking about the architecture of this space and that huge window were probably the most fun parts

Early on in the film there was a "Love" town, this was a concept for the interior of someone's house. It was lots of fun to think of the cheesiest saccrine valentines day themed house! Even the Doilies are made out of hearts!

Frozen Art DUMP!
Hey Guys!
Frozen is out in theaters so I thought that I would share with you some of the things I worked on while on the film.
I worked on it for one full year and at the time it was the longest I had ever worked on a production!
Sometimes while you're working on a film you forget about the pieces that you worked on and which ones you liked, doing this really helped to remind me of all the work I was proud of from this Movie.

Not So ORDINARY girl!
I got a chance to illustrate a series of kids books a while back and it's getting published on the 21st of this month! Here's the amazon link
Not so Ordinary Girl, Ballerina Weather Girl
Not so Ordinary Girl, Miss Matched
Not so Ordinary Girl, Don't Chicken Out!
I did the interior illustrations for only the last one, "Don't Chicken Out!" the rest were done by another artist.
Here's some of the early development work that went into creating the covers, for some reason I'm having some trouble locating the pages of the interior for book 3, but I thought that you would still like a peek into the process.
I got to read the manuscript and just come up with my own style for the character which was a lot of fun! The watercolor sketch was inspired by Vance Gerry, a Disney Story artist who had a show up in the studio when I was doing these.

007 Show at Q Pop
I got a chance to participate in the 007 Show at Q Pop this past weekend! The subject matter practically demanded sexy ladies lounging about!
I actually decided to try out a different technique when it came to doing the composition for this one, I was really inspired by Kali Ciesemier and her use of Informal Subdivision that I decided to try it out for myself! Here's my subdivisions:
It was actually a really interesting way to work, very unnatural for me, but it really pushed me to think hard about my angles and what I was doing, I think it's a really fun exercise for any designer/illustrator!
The show is still up at Qpop too, so anyone in the downtown LA area go check out the great work! I have a few prints of this at the show as well!

The house in the woods
Having some fun doing an environment for myself! Working on projects is great, but sometimes you just need to do some personal art to remind yourself that art is fun! I've been doing a lot of modern stuff at work so I decided I wanted more fairy tale worlds in my life.

Star Kiss Sketch
When I do original art I like to do a quick photoshop sketch. Here's one for my newest painting that I'm working on during my lunch hours.

Lucy in the Sky
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, I found this piece that was inspired by the Beatles for a Tribute show at Gallery Nucleus. I had a really great time painting this, but it was actually really hard for me to think of what to do for the theme. I had a lot of sketches for an "Octopus' Garden" painting, but I couldn't get it to work. I was rather pleased with this result.
I'll be having a couple of these as prints at CTN Expo which starts TOMORROW! Fri-Sunday of this week 11-16. I'm so excited to talk to people!
I also just gave a few tours of our downstairs Art of Wreck it Ralph Gallery to a bunch of students who are here early for CTN Expo, it was great to share our studio with you guys!
